The course covers the use and function of surface and subsea Blowout Preventer (BOP) stacks, key operational responses to well control incidents, and vital calculations required during pressure control scenarios. Levels 2 to 4 provide a tiered learning experience—from foundational understanding to advanced simulation based training and supervisory level responsibilities. The program is aligned with IWCF standards and includes both theoretical learning and practical simulator sessions for Levels 3 and 4. By the end of this training, participants will be able to: Understand the causes and indicators of kicks and blowouts, explain the principles of primary and secondary well control Identify components and functions of surface and subsea BOP stacks, apply kick detection techniques and control procedures Perform essential well control calculations (e.g., kill mud weight, casing pressure), analyze and respond to well control incidents effectively, operate drilling simulators under different well control scenarios (Levels 3 & 4), understand IWCF well control syllabus and exam expectations, prepare effectively for IWCF Levels 2–4 certification exams.

The curriculum aligns with IWCF Levels 2, 3, and 4 standards, combining theoretical foundations with practical simulator training (Levels 3 & 4). By the end of this Training, participants will be able to: Understand the causes and risks associated with pressure buildup during well interventions Identify and operate well intervention pressure control equipment Implement barrier management strategies Conduct safe wireline, coiled tubing, and snubbing operations Perform critical calculations for pressure management and kill operations Apply well control procedures to maintain well integrity during interventions Demonstrate practical competency through simulator based training Prepare for and pass the IWCF Well Intervention Pressure Control exam (Levels 2–4).
